Composer, improviser and interpreter Diane Labrosse uses mainly digital sampling when working on bruitism and spatialisation. She appears regularly on contemporary, improvised and avant-garde music stages with her colleagues Michel F. Côté, Jean Derome, Joanne Hétu, Danielle P. Roger and Martin Tétreault and has participated in festivals in Europe, Japan, Australia, Canada and the United States. In the last 10 years she has worked on numerous projects writing music for the stage director Robert Lepage (La Géométrie des miracles, Zulu Time), the choreographers Crystal Pite and Richard Siegal (Double Story), Andrew Harwood (Sens cible, 6e sens, Les 5 mouvements), Louise Bédard (Ce qu’il en reste), Deborah Dunn (Blackmail), as well as installations for Tura-ya-moya (Denmark) and Cryptic Theatre (Scotland). She has composed for the Ensemble SuperMusique and Espaces Sonores Illimités (Montréal), the Burdocks and Array Music (Toronto) and 999Years of Music (Vancouver). She has been featured in over 30 recordings, mostly on the independent Ambiances Magnétiques label. She has also been the co-director of Productions SuperMusique since 1980.
