Moving freely from avant-garde events to traditional concerts, the Bozzini Quartet was recently qualified by the Irish Times as a «group which gets its teeth into music. Quiet or loud, fast or slow, these Canadian musicians play with compelling engagement».
Deeply devoted to music as a universal language, these four young artists fervently communicates their musical esthetics, with music’s transcending time and space; old music or new music, unknown music or famous music, strange music or familiar music.
«Discovery of the year» at the Prix Opus 2001, Bozzini Quartet presents around forty concerts a year, embracing a repertoire from the classic and romantic periods to improvised music. The group especially enjoys collaborations with living composers, premiering quartets by Christian Wolff, Michael Oesterle, Malcolm Goldstein, Gerald Barry and Jean Lesage, between others.
One of Canada’s leading Quartet, the ensemble is in residence at Concordia University in Montréal with the production company Concerts M. Besides presenting its own concert series in Montréal, Bozzini Quartet often plays in many Canadian and American cities. European Tours brought the ensemble in Germany, at the Huddersfield Contemporary Music Festival in England, in Ireland, Switzerland and Sweden.
