Over the past few years Alain Trudel has established himself as a singularly exciting and musical conductor. Trudel has been invited and, more importantly, re-invited to conduct by many orchestras and musical training programs including the Toronto Symphony, l’Orchestre métropolitain du grand Montréal, the CBC Vancouver Orchestra, the Victoria Symphony, the Windsor Symphony, Orchestra London, the Banff Centre, the Scotia Festival, the Glenn Gould School, the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, the Saskatoon Symphony, the Brass Band of Battlecreek, the Tokyo Metropolitan Chamber Orchestra and the City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong.

Upcoming conducting engagements include a tour with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Vancouver Symphony Orchestra, Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony, Orchestra London, Manitoba Chamber Orchestra, Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, the CBC Vancouver Orchestra, Windsor Symphony, University of Toronto, a Beethoven tour in Guatemala and Salvador and a recording for the Warner Bros Company. In 2004, Alain Trudel was named Conductor of the Toronto Symphony Youth Orchestra, leading rehearsals, developing programming, holding auditions, and conducting the Concerts.

Awards include: the Virginia-Parker award (celebrating the most promissing talent in Canada), The Midred Dixon Holmes award, The “Grand prix de l’Académie Charles Cross” , the “Choc de l’Année of Le Monde la Musique” and the “Opus” and “Juno” Awards.

He is the artistic director of “Le Kiosque à Musique” and member of the trio Bellows & Brass. Trudel has also been the pricipal arranger and leader of the National CBC Christmas Sing-In for 15 years and for many years was Aritistic director and coordinator of the “Summer Serenade” at the Camp Musical des Laurentides.

Trudel is also one of the most important solo trombonists of our time, having played with Ochestre Philharmonique de Radio-France, the Hong-Kong Philharmonic, The Austrian Radio Orchestra, the National Radio-Television Orchestra of Poland, the Orchestre métropolitain de Montréal, Festival Musica Strasbourg (France), the Ars Musica Festival (Belgium), Klangbogen Festival (Vienna), Akiyoshidai Festival and at Hamamatsu (Japan) and the Berlin Radio Symphony. In 1997 he succeded his teacher at the Conservatoire de musique du Québec à Montréal.

Alain Trudel is an “International Yamaha Artist” and has his own signature mouthpiece and trombone model. The Yamaha corporation sponsors his important educational activities.
