With a musical career spanning over 30 years, Karen Young is one of Canada’s best-known and most adventurous jazz singers. Moving freely from jazz to early music to new music to film scores to music theatre and choral music, Young has performed at many major festivals, including the Montréal International Jazz Festival, and toured North America and Europe with her projects such as the Young & Donato (whose CD Contredanse was winner of a 1988 Felix Award as well as a Juno nomination), Canticum Canticorum and the Young & Auclair duo. Her list of CDs includes the recent Ame, crops et désir, as well as La Coleur du Vent, Nice Work If You Can Get It, and Second Time Around. She is a frequent collaborator of leading Montréal ensembles, including the SMCQ, the VivaVoce choir, the Studio de musique ancienne de Montréal and Bradyworks.
