Works by Makdissi-Warren.
In this period of “self-isolation”, Katia Makdissi-Warren invites us to a great virtual concert!
After discovering the composer’s music, students will participate in a concert that will echo their own creative activities. At the culmination of this event, the work Les Grands espaces, composed by Ms. Makdissi-Warren, will bring together previously recorded students, Inuit throat singers, musicians from Oktoécho and a choreography, within an audiovisual montage on the model of virtual choirs. The piece, imbued with sounds of nature and the Far North, will allow young people to create and share an unforgettable moment of musical creation, while offering the public an incredible sound journey.
The concert will also include several other works and highlights celebrating the composer’s music. These include the biographical comic book sounded by the students from l’école Montessori Orford, or some of the creations by a class, inspired by of Ms. Makdissi-Warren’s works. The event will conclude with a participatory round table hosted by André Dudemaine, founder and executive director of “Land Insights” society for the promotion of aboriginal culture.
