Deconstructed rock, improvisations, fragmented jazz, reinvented folklore, explosive songs, and the occasional “bruitiste” atmosphere are all on the slate. Keen advocates of music that lies outside of any sort of academic tradition, SuperMusique joins in the Vivier celebration. With Diane Labrosse’s Vivier “remix,” works by Michel F. Côté, Danielle Palardy Roger, and Giorgio Magnanensi celebrate the composer’s music… with new music. Undoubtedly the most “turbulent” event of the Vivier series!

The SMCQ has been moving in step with the lively rhythms of new music for over forty-five years. With its regular concert season, its Série hommage (Homage Series), an international festival, and a young listener’s programme, the society has served both as a platform for today’s composers and as a window on creative works for everyone.
