Production Constantinople

Destination Iran: Claude Vivier embarks on a new journey, courtesy of Constantinople! Renown for its original performances of early and contemporary music of Persian origin, the group will take Shiraz home with its adaptation of the music for the country’s exotic instruments. And Jacynthe Riverin, a veteran performer of the solo piano version of Vivier’s Shiraz, will be along for the adventure! With Hossein Omoumi, one of Iran’s most well-known musicians, join Constantinople as it throws open the doors of the great palaces of Ispahan and Shiraz to reveal Persian music in all its brilliance and all its refinement.

Presented as part of Montréal/New Music’s “Série Hommage.”
