Production Vivarté

Mysterious sounds slide through the air in all their variety… Let yourself ride the waves of Claude Vivier’s Pulau Dewata. A quartet of Ondes Martenot players founded in 1976, the Ensemble d’Ondes de Montréal will deliver a truly unique performance of this work, originally scored for various instruments. As a “Hear and Taste” event, this concert will be a unique occasion for the whole family to discover a fascinating instrument, all the while becoming acquainted with music by a Québécois legend.

Presented as part of the Montréal/New Music’s “Série Hommage.”

Programme

Composing in the Present!

The SMCQ has been moving in step with the lively rhythms of new music for over forty-five years. With its regular concert season, its Série hommage (Homage Series), an international festival, and a young listener’s programme, the society has served both as a platform for today’s composers and as a window on creative works for everyone.
