Kopernikus conducted by Lorraine Vaillancourt… 30 years later! The Université de Montréal’s contemporary music studio rises once again to the challenge of presenting an opera it premiered in 1979. The ensemble director’s legendary attention to detail promises a brilliant return for Vivier’s work! In the years between 1979 and 2008, Kopernikus has stood the test of time; its spiritual and dream like universe — conjured up by a masterful conductor — will be delivered whole. Let it take you away!

Presented as part of Montréal/New Music’s “Série Hommage.”

Composing in the Present!

The SMCQ has been moving in step with the lively rhythms of new music for almost fifty years. With its regular concert season, its Série hommage (Homage Series), an international festival, and a young listener’s programme, the society has served both as a platform for today’s composers and as a window on creative works for everyone.
