Workshops presented by Jeunesses Musicales du Canada (JMC) as part of “Music Week” and Montreal/New Music’s “Série hommage”.

Jeunesses Musicales du Canada is post to host a series of creative workshops centered on the sonic world of Claude Vivier, using the Musicolator, an ingenuous composing machine designed by Yves Daoust that has traveled throughout Québec since it was first created in 2005. On the cutting edge of digital technology, the Musicolator was conceived to be universally accessible. It enables the generation of highly complex and sophisticated sonic worlds while remaining simple to operate. As part of the “Tribute to Vivier” series, composer-animators who work with the Musicolator will guide users through Vivier’s world of sound. Come and stir up the compositional talents lying dormant in you!

Vivier selections: creative workshops inspired by the works of Claude Vivier

Workshops will take place between 1 and 9 March 2008 in the island of Montreal area for young people aged 3 to 12 and their families. The brochure for Music Week, including the complete schedule for “The Musicolator,” will be published and distributed this coming January. The schedule will also be available on the JMC and Montreal/New Music “Tribute Series” websites.
