Destination: outer space. With two daring organists at the helm, there’s little choice but to let yourself be transported by the voluptuous sonorities of two major works from the contemporary organ repertoire: Tremblay and the purity of Gregorian chant; Daoust and the luxury of electroacoustic fusion evoking Bach. Each sounds with its own fullness — an experience beyond time, vibrant, poignant, captivating… uplifting.

La SMCQ, véritable institution des musiques nouvelles en Amérique du Nord, s’associe pour ce concert aux Conservatoire de musique et d’art dramatique du Québec, qui regroupe 7 établissements d’enseignements à travers le Québec.

Composing in the Present!

The SMCQ has been moving in step with the lively rhythms of new music for almost fifty years. With its regular concert season, its Série hommage (Homage Series), an international festival, and a young listener’s programme, the society has served both as a platform for today’s composers and as a window on creative works for everyone.
