Production [iks], presented by Chapelle historique du Bon-Pasteur

Inspiration Tremblay: the highly eclectic [iks] group joins “hyper-flutist” Cléo Palacio-Quintin to present an original piece inspired by select titles of beacon works by the honouree. In a concert rounded out by this unusual ensemble’s usual repertoire, in which a host of highly varied and brightly coloured styles weave in and out, the music of Gilles Tremblay reaches listeners in the most unimaginable way…

Programme

[iks] is a contemporary jazz group founded in 1996 because of a desire to experiment with different visions of improvised music in order to built a unique new musical language.

Composing in the Present!

The SMCQ has been moving in step with the lively rhythms of new music for over forty-five years. With its regular concert season, its Série hommage (Homage Series), an international festival, and a young listener’s programme, the society has served both as a platform for today’s composers and as a window on creative works for everyone.
