Coproduction Quatuor Bozzini / Evergreen Gamelan

Witness the unexpected symbiosis of string quartet and Indonesian musical ensemble! Once again this year, the Quatuor Bozzini’s composers’ salon has become a venue for big surprises. Equipped with exotic instruments, the Evergreen Gamelan ensemble will join the Quatuor Bozzini to explore various fertile points of musical intersection between East and West, in a programme of contemporary Canadian works.

Through intimate recitals and largescale events alike, the Quatuor Bozzini has been spreading its passion for music around the world for over a decade. Toronto’s Evergreen Gamelan has explored both traditional Indonesian and contemporary music since 1983.

Composing in the Present!

The SMCQ has been moving in step with the lively rhythms of new music for almost fifty years. With its regular concert season, its Série hommage (Homage Series), an international festival, and a young listener’s programme, the society has served both as a platform for today’s composers and as a window on creative works for everyone.
