Production Ensemble Chorum

Christmas comes early with the Ensemble Chorum! As the centerpiece for the concert and also a premiere, Leboeuf ’s Christmas tale for children young and old weds marvelously with Sokolović’s Ambient V. In addition to these two Québécois works, audience members will hear a work by Mozart — a not so unimaginative composer either. This performance is dedicated to big dreamers and the young at heart!

United since 2006 by a common desire to reshape traditional concert formats, the young musicians of the Ensemble Chorum are dedicated to promoting exchange between contemporary and classical music and to encouraging dialogue between composers and performers.

Composing in the Present!

The SMCQ has been moving in step with the lively rhythms of new music for almost fifty years. With its regular concert season, its Série hommage (Homage Series), an international festival, and a young listener’s programme, the society has served both as a platform for today’s composers and as a window on creative works for everyone.
