Audiences for La fugue gave the show the warmest of welcomes for performances given during the Coups de Théâtre festival this past November 19th and 20th. Co-produced by SMCQ Jeunesse / Qui Va là, La Fugue “took hold of its young audience’s entire attention,” as Jean Siag noted in a subsequent review for La Presse (21 November 2008). La Fugue will be given further performances at the Plateau-Mont-Royal cultural centre or “maison de culture” this coming November 18th at 8:00 pm and again on December 19th at both 1:30 pm and 8:00 pm. Passes for these events are free of charge and can be obtained on site starting December 11th (call 514-872-2266).

The SMCQ has been moving in step with the lively rhythms of new music for over forty-five years. With its regular concert season, its Série hommage (Homage Series), an international festival, and a young listener’s programme, the society has served both as a platform for today’s composers and as a window on creative works for everyone.
