The SMCQ is leaving the country! And in the company of 31 musicians, including the Bozzini string quartet and Sixtrum’s six percussionists. It’s all part of Radio-France’s Présences festival — a special event entitled “Week-End Québec” that will see the SMCQ perform seven concerts in Paris, Montpellier, and Lyon. With a programme that includes both twentieth-century “Classics” (Cage, Ligeti and Xenakis) as well as “Homegrown” talent (Walter Boudreau, Paul Frehner and Claude Vivier), this tour will provide a unique occasion to acquaint and “re-acquaint” audiences abroad with our composers and performers’ excellence.
