Sadly, we have learned yesterday morning that composer Jacques Hétu, one of the most prolific and widely played Canadian composers, passed away on February 9th. As the Conseil québécois de la musique (CQM) said in a news release yesterday, Mr Hétu had just received the Opus hommage prize, for the importance of his work. We join the arts community and offer our most sincere condolences to Mr Hétu’s family and friends.
