The Musicolator a “composition machine” developed by composer Yves Daoust for SMCQ Jeunesse (our youth component), will for the second time be part of a grand performance given by the Orchestre symphonique de Longueuil, integrated into its Concert de printemps. But there’s something new this year: young musicians worked for several months with Quasar saxophonists who helped them to prepare this unique event that the entire family will enjoy. June 5th at 2:30 pm (Place des Arts, Théatre Maisonneuve).

Composing in the Present!

The SMCQ has been moving in step with the lively rhythms of new music for almost fifty years. With its regular concert season, its Série hommage (Homage Series), an international festival, and a young listener’s programme, the society has served both as a platform for today’s composers and as a window on creative works for everyone.
