Halloween
Production SMCQ
From an ironic Frankenstein depicted as “heroic scum” (Gruber) to an intense sonic drama set in the dark (Dufort); from threatening, ferocious instrumental noises (Edwards) to the suspense of an unpredictable musical narrative (Garant): Walter Boudreau and the Ensemble of the SMCQ, with the addition of baritone Simon Fournier and the musicians of Sixtrum and Quasar, present a terrifying grand concert for Halloween. And the strange thing is that, in this case, danger is dangerously appealing…

The SMCQ has been moving in step with the lively rhythms of new music for over forty-five years. With its regular concert season, its Série hommage (Homage Series), an international festival, and a young listener’s programme, the society has served both as a platform for today’s composers and as a window on creative works for everyone.
