In periods of confusion and clarity alike, the spirit moves through a variety of states: from fear and solitude to joy and sadness. . . The inner world is pushed in every direction and control seems eternally absent. Expectation wishes for liberation, even though even the greatest liberation is filtered through a mist. The cadence is broken.
… Et le ça was completed in 2000-01 at the Montreal Conservatory studio and pre-miered in June of 2001 at the same venue. This work garnered the SOCAN Foundation’s Hugh Le Caine Award (1st Prize) at the 2002 young composer’s competition.
