Commission: Société Radio-Canada (SRC)
To Jacques Boucher and Charles Berlitz
Atlantide presents three everyday aspects of radio: information, entertainment and culture. The work progresses on two levels alternately: on the one hand, through the use of compositional and recording techniques that allow to exceed the traditional possibilities of instrumental and vocal performance; on the other, through the use of sounds from the city and from nature that allow to place the listener in familiar surroundings.
Could the metaphor of the continent engulfed into the abyss suggest that Brégent, always the visionary, had foreseen his own demise?
