In Eonta are integrated elements from both stochastic and symbolic music. Certain parts, the opening piano solo in particular, were calculated by the “electronic brain” on IBM 7090 computer of place Vendôme in Paris. Eonta was composed in 1963-1964, in Berlin, and was premiered at the Domaine musical in December 1964, under the direction of Pierre Boulez, with pianist Yuji Takahashi.
