For more than ten years, the soprano Émilie Laforest has been appearing on the Quebec musical stage. During her studies in classical singing, she developed a particular interest in contemporary, current, electro-acoustic and experimental music. She has collaborated with several Quebec composers (Dufort, Gilbert, Ceccarelli, Laplante, Llugdar, McKinley, etc.), but has also performed a vast “classical-contemporary” repertoire (Crumb, Scelsi, Aperghis, Cage, Webern, Berio, Kurtag, Feldman, etc.). Very versatile and always creative, she has often collaborated with other artistic mediums such as dance, theatre (Brigitte Haentjens), pop music (Pierre Lapointe, Stéphanie Lapointe, Ariane Moffatt) and poetry. Émilie is currently at work on her very first sound recording of songs in collaboration with poet, Kim Doré, guitarist, Joseph Marchand and sculptor, David Altmejd. This sound recording will be released in March 2013.
