Performer (cello)
In 1979, Sylvie Lambert became a permanent member of the Montréal Symphony Orchestra after winning a first prize from the Conservatoire de musique du Québec, under Michael Kilburn’s direction. An active soloist and chamber music performer, she has also given many lectures in Canada and abroad. She has played with many ensembles, including the Molinari Quartet, the Horizon Ensemble and the Allegri Ensemble, and has premiered many works by Canadian composers. As a teacher, she has worked at the Conservatoire de Trois-Rivières, at Sherbrooke College and University, and at the Camp musical de l’Estrie. She is presently coaching for the Westmount String Ensemble and gives private lessons in cello and chamber music.
