Works by Dvořák, Evangelista and Mozart.
The Orchestre symphonique de Laval ushers in its 32nd season with a miniature symphony by the Montréal composer of Spanish origin, José Evangelista, presented as part of a Tribute Series to José Evangelista organized by the Société de musique contemporaine du Québec (SMCQ). The Orchestra’s Principal Clarinet, Jean-François Normand, will perform Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto, written by the composer a few months before he died — a true masterpiece! Dvořák’s great Symphony in D minor, utterly heroic and Romantic, completes the programme. [Peggy Niloff, translation and adaptation]
