After the holidays, the SMCQ team is back in force for the countdown to Montréal/New Musics festival 2011! We are particularly proud to announce that memorable music/dance performance La Vie qui bat will launch the festival on February 18th. Created in 1999 by conductor Walter Boudreau and O Vertigo dance company, La Vie qui bat, a choreography by Ginette Laurin for ten dancers on Steve Reich’s unforgettable Drumming, has been acclaimed by both press and audiences. After performances in Tokyo and recently in Marseille, the show is back in Montréal (for the first time since 1999) with Sixtrum Percussion Ensemble conducted by Walter Boudreau and O Vertigo’s dancers.
The festival’s full program will be revealed at the press conference of January 18th in the presence of comedian and dancer Marc Béland, MNM 2011 spokesperson. Stay tuned!
