Interprète (mezzo-soprano)

American Mezzo-soprano Charlotte Jefferies is thrilled to be performing her first concert at the Canadian Music Center for the SMCQ’s year-long celebration of composer John Rea. A graduate of The Boston Conservatory where she studied with Kevin Wilson and Michael Strauss, Ms. Jefferies cultivated a great love for contemporary music. Upon her arrival in Canada to pursue her graduate studies in opera, Ms. Jefferies has continued performances of contemporary and late-romantic music including Berg’s Sieben frühe Lieder, Ravel’s Shéhérazade, and Melopoeia — a new microtonal composition by Christopher Goddard, performed with McGill’s Contemporary Music Ensemble. She is currently working on Mark Adamo’s Little Women, and will be performing the role of Meg under the baton of Christopher Larkin November 6-8 at the Schulich School of Music in Pollack Hall.
